Hair-raising Stories at the Waldorf Barbershop
Architect: n/a
13 Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2
This subterranean art deco gem has been a barbershop since 1946, complete with 1940s chrome fittings, hot towel steamers and other architectural details. Hair-raising tales, told by Jack Lynch and Brendan Nolan of Storytellers of Ireland will animate the space alongside performances from Bella a Go Go; The Larkfield Four quartet; 1940s music and dancing from the Waldorf Jitterbugs; and a short history of the barbershop.
